Vanessa Valdes
Vanessa Valdes serves as the Operations Manager at the Center for Community Impact and Public Purpose at FIU. In her role, she's responsible for daily operations of the unit, including management of workflow, administrative procedures, implementation of policies and guidelines, oversight of Financials, and office support.
Vanessa previously served as the Program Coordinator for Urban Potential Laboratories. This program prepares underemployed, non-BA residents for middle-skill careers in high demanding industries. In her role, she ensured the program's success through communication with students and partners, compliance with budget items, collaboration with internal and external partners to establish the program's academic curriculum, and logistical components pertinent to the program.
A two-time FIU alumnus, she obtained her Master's in Accounting from the FIU College of Business with specializations in Assurance and Analytics. She also received her Bachelor's in Business Administration in Finance and a minor in Business Analytics from FIU.
